The number of disposal wells – where wastewater, often from hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” operations is disposed of – is surging statewide. The nonprofit Texas Tribune website has mapped data from the Texas Railroad Commission, the agency that regulates oil and gas production, to show sites of active wells for disposal.

According to the data, there are no disposal wells in the Glen Rose 76043 ZIP code. But three exist between Glen Rose and Granbury and more than a dozen between Glen Rose and Cleburne.
