Things promise to get a bit batty around Glen Rose on Saturday, Oct. 4. The Prairie Rose Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas hosts a presentation by renown Bat World Sanctuary from Mineral Wells in conjunction with the fall Native Plant Sale at historic Barnard’s Mill, 307 S.W. Barnard St.

The free event begins at 10 a.m. and will end around 3 p.m. During the day visitors can shop, take free samples of wildflower seeds, tour Barnard’s Mill, learn from participating groups such as Glen Rose Bird Club, Somervell County Master Gardeners, Dino Bee Club, Glen Rose Garden Club and Rio Brazos Master Naturalist, then enjoy the bat presentation from 1 to 3 p.m.

Afterwards, head up the street to the Bluegrass Festival at Oakdale Park, cheer on bicyclists participating in Paluxy Pedal or just have a beer and burger downtown.

Plan to boogey on down to Barnard’s Mill for bluebonnets, bluebirds, Blackfoot Daisy, bees, butterflies.and bats. It’s the “B”event, so be there!
