Dennis Moore named ‘Citizen of the Year’

Glen Rose City Councilman Dennis Moore is the new Glen Rose “Citizen of the Year.”

The Glen Rose City Council made the award at its Monday meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Bob Stricklin, in presenting the award, said that Moore was being honored for his long service to the community.

“I did not expect the honor and do appreciate it! Glen Rose is a great place to live and serve,” Moore told the Current. “We are blessed to have so many individuals in our communtiy who give of their time and energy to make this a great place to live!”

Moore, who was elected to the city council in 2011, has served on the Planning & Zoning Commission and is a new board member on the Somervell County Appraisal District. He is a lifelong resident of Glen Rose and Somervell County and has been pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Glen Rose for the past 23 years.

A sign with his name and a special parking spot will be reserved for Moore in front of Town Hall.
