This Friday is our monthly Swap & Shop from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tables are $5 and you can reserve yours by calling Sandy.

Our mothers enjoyed being fussed over and having their pictures made and seemed pleased with the results as we handed out the finished product last Friday at our Mother’s Day celebration.

The fourth Wednesday is coming early this month, so don’t miss out on our May birthday celebration featuring entertainment by Margie Hartsfield on Wednesday, May 22,  from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Our next movie will be The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson on Tuesday, June 11, at 6 p.m.

Our next dance will be on Friday, May 24,  featuring C.B. Sutton and the Outcast. The doors open at 6 p.m. for some meet-and-greet time, and the band starts at 7 p.m. There is a $5 admission at the door.

Winners of last week’s Bunco tournament were: Jimmy Riley with the most Buncos, Carole Kofke with the most wins and Don Baker with the most losses. Others playing in the tournament were: Rosemary and Roy Cooper, Zula Hunter, Janet and Royce Stacy, Roger Jordan, Betty Flanagan, Patsy Thompson, Ann Parham, Marcy Capell, Jodie Reynolds, Karena Eccles, John and Phyllis Psencik, Tom Swaim, Mary Riley and Louise McCoy.

If you know anyone who may need meals, transportation, an emergency response system, medical equipment, food stamp (SNAP), Medicaid or Somervell County Food Bank applications, utility assistance applications or any other senior-oriented services, please call or come by the center.

Remember that you don’t have to be a senior to come and enjoy all of our activities or eat lunch with us.  Don’t forget to visit our website at www.glenrosesccoa.com for menus, activities, articles, links to other sites and lots of pictures, or “like” our Facebook page “Somervell Citizens’ Center.” Our number is 254-897-2139.
